The pool
Heated, from May to September
You swim from the first fine days of May, and again in September when the ocean has turned cold. The stone surround holds the day’s heat, the sun loungers follow the sun from one end of the garden to the other, and the outdoor shower saves you crossing the house in a wet swimsuit. From October to April the pool is closed: that is the season of the wood stove and the vineyards.
- Heating is included in the price, never an extra
- Secured; closed from October to April
- Outdoor shower, sun loungers, a shaded table a few steps away
The garden
800 m² enclosed, shade at every hour
The garden runs all the way around the house: lawn to play on, gravel paths that crunch underfoot, maples and trees tall enough that there is always a corner in the shade. The layout owes a lot to Japanese gardens, but you stop noticing: what you look for is a chair and the quiet. It is all enclosed behind the gate and maintained year-round — you only have to pick your spot.
- Shade from morning to evening, and lawn in full sun
- Enclosed behind an electric gate, three parking spaces on the property
- Garden and pool maintained year-round, watering included

Outdoor living
Two terraces, a pergola, a barbecue

The dining terrace
Straight off the kitchen: a table for eight, in the shade. This is where breakfast happens, and most dinners.

The pergola
Sofas and cushions at the water’s edge. You read there, you nap there, you keep an eye on the children in the pool.

The Big Green Egg
The ceramic barbecue that does everything: grilling, slow cooking, pizzas. Utensils provided.

The water is heated: nobody yelps on the way in. The sun loungers have already turned to face the sun.
2 pm
Hammock hour
Lunch in the shade of the pergola, a nap in the hammock. The children, for their part, never get out of the water.
5 pm
Bordeaux, or the vineyards
A late afternoon on the quays, or in the vineyards of Saint-Émilion. Twenty minutes, thirty-five minutes.
8 pm
The Big Green Egg
The grill, the table outside, the light dropping over the garden. Tomorrow, you won’t change much.

Frequently asked questions
The pool, in practice
Is the pool really heated?
Yes, and it changes everything: the water is good from May and still in September, when the ocean is already cold. From October to April it is closed and secured.
Can we swim in May or September?
That is arguably the best moment: the water is at the right temperature, the garden is quiet and the rates are gentler than in high summer.
Is the garden safe for children?
The garden is entirely enclosed and the gate is electric; the pool is secured. Inside: stair gates, a fireguard for the stove, a cot and a high chair.
