Every Sunday morning, from 7 am to 1 pm, on place du Docteur-Dejean: greengrocer, fishmonger, rotisserie, cheesemonger, wine merchant. Enough to fill the XXL kitchen for the week.

The village supermarket, with a good selection of local products and regional wines, a petrol station and an EV charger. Click-and-collect to order before you arrive.

Le Jep’s
The village bar-tabac is also a brasserie: coffee in the morning, dish of the day at lunch, tapas and beers in the evening, on the terrace. Our address for dinner without getting back in the car.

At the foot of the château, seasonal cooking made with produce from the farm and neighbouring growers; open Friday to Monday, booking advised. The château also offers tastings of its wines.

On the heights of Bouliac, facing Bordeaux: the Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant for a special occasion, and its bistronomic table for a simpler lunch with the same view.

The Wednesday market
On Wednesday mornings, the bastide town of Créon hosts one of the big markets of the Entre-deux-Mers: growers, poultry, cheeses, plants and flowers. Combine it with a ride on the Roger-Lapébie path.
Bordeaux · 20 min
The Capucins market
The “belly of Bordeaux”, Tuesday to Sunday morning: oysters from the Bay to eat on the spot, cheeses, spices, fresh produce. Then walk the quays to place de la Bourse.

The Créon bike station
At the old Créon railway station, right on the Roger-Lapébie path: classic and electric bikes for hire by the half-day or day, child seats and trailers. The greenway is flat and shaded, ideal with children.

La Sauve-Majeure abbey
A Romanesque masterpiece on the World Heritage list, twenty minutes away: the tower, the carved capitals, the garden. An hour’s visit, to combine with Créon.

Saint-Émilion and its monolithic church
The church carved into the rock can only be visited with the tourist office: book your slot before you set off. Then the lanes, the Tour du Roy and a tasting at a château.

Bordeaux: the Cité du Vin and the water mirror
The Cité du Vin, place de la Bourse and its water mirror, the quays by bike: Bordeaux in a day, by car or on bus 470 from the village.

The Dune du Pilat and the Bay
An hour away: Europe’s highest dune, the oyster huts of the Bay, calm beaches for children. Leave early on summer weekends.

Where do we buy bread in the morning?
At the Voyages Gourmands bakery, a few minutes’ walk away, open every day from early morning. On Sundays, the market on place du Docteur-Dejean fills the rest of the basket.
Can we have dinner in the village without a car?
Yes: Le Jep’s (brasserie, tapas) and La Casa Italienne (Italian, pizzas) are within walking distance. For a special table, La Bonne Table in Camarsac and Le Saint-James in Bouliac are a few minutes by car.
Where can we hire bikes?
